Can my NEBOSH Diploma help with certification of any other external courses?

Yes – being a NEBOSH Diploma can help you meet some of the requirements to sit examinations for the:

  • The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
  • The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP)

We have provided further details below:

BCSP

BCSP has two main levels of certification for safety professionals the first of these levels is Associate Safety Professional (ASP). Students will normally need to have passed the ASP assessments before going on to take the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) assessments.

The NEBOSH National and International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is recognised for the internationally accredited Certified Safety Professional® (CSP) certification, allowing candidates to bypass the ASP examination and apply directly for the CSP examination if they also meet the other eligibility criteria of the BCSP.

Criteria for CSP certification:

  • have passed either the NEBOSH National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety;
  • hold a USA equivalent Associate’s in safety, health or environment or a bachelor’s degree in any discipline;
  • And have at least four years of professional safety experience where safety is at least 50%, preventative, professional level with breadth and depth of safety duties.

Once a student has gained CSP Certification, they will need to go through BCSP’s recertification process every five years.

Likewise, a Certified Safety Professional may achieve the National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety without taking the related NEBOSH course, if they sit and pass the assessments.

For more information visit the BCSP website.

BCRSP

Holders of the NEBOSH National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety will now be eligible for certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) upon completion of the CRST examination.

For NEBOSH National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety  holders e with greater workplace experience and additional qualifications, BCRSP is offering a streamlined route to Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).

Canadian professionals with CRSP status may now achieve a NEBOSH National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety without taking the relevant NEBOSH course, if they sit and pass the assessments.

For more information visit the BCRSP website.

NEBOSH has always taken ethical practice issues very seriously and continuously develops its systems to maintain the high standards we expect of ourselves. Anyone with evidence of malpractice, in any NEBOSH assessment, should report this to postassessment@nebosh.org.uk.

Listening to an Alumni suggestion, we have now created a dedicated WhatsApp number for anyone who would like to report a malpractice concern or evidence. This will ensure you reach the right team and maintain the purpose of our regular Alumni channels.

The WhatsApp will reach our Ethical Practice team directly where they review every piece of information and intelligence. Please note:

  • It must only be used for the reporting of suspected malpractice – we will not be able to provide support or information for any other queries.
  • It must be used for messages only – phone/video calls will not be answered.
